Bring Light into the World
Chanukah is the festival of rededication and light in the midst of the winter solstice. As we begin to celebrate this week, I invite you to think about a number of ways that we can bring more light into the world.
As we come to the end of the calendar year, we always welcome end of the year contributions to Tehillah, so that we can continue to be a source of light for those that need it. Click HERE
Thank you to all of you who have contributed to the support of the recently arrived Ukrainian family. If you still wish to do so HERE.
Almost exactly 10 years after the Sandy Hook shooting, we are no closer to passing gun control legislation to prevent further school shootings. On the contrary, in 2020, gun violence surpassed car accidents to become the leading cause of death for American children. What can we do? READ HERE
First, we can be active observers and consciously witness the victims of this peculiarly American scourge. The New York Times Magazine is devoting its annual The Lives They Lived issue to profile the lives of 12 children whose lives were cut short by gun violence. Read the feature HERE.
Second, we can honor the victims of Sandy Hook with action. We invite you to go to the Sandy Hook Promise WEBSITE and take part in the December Days of Action by signing the card.
Together we make a difference, in small ways and large.
