Buffalo

It has been a little over a month since the shootings in Buffalo, and Tops Supermarket remains closed.  This week I had the opportunity to speak with one of my colleagues who is based in Buffalo. She told me that although the community has rallied together, there is much work to be done. The supermarket is being renovated and residents look forward to once more having an excellent market. However, in the meantime the neighborhood suffers from a lack of food even as it continues to grieve. 

We suggest making a donation to help those in need. Here are a couple of options:

• Tops Supermarket has set up a 5/14 BUFFALO SURVIVORS FUND in partnership with the National Compassion Fund and started the fund with a donation of $500,000. Visit the site to donate.
• Feed More WNY (formerly the Food Bank and Meals on Wheels) has set an EMERGENCY FUND for donations and a very useful 
  LIST OF RESOURCES.
