New York Health Forum
This event focuses on the just-released 2019 version of the New York Health Act and headed by the Senate Sponsor, Gustavo Rivera. The forum is organized by the Northwest Bronx Clergy and Community Coalition (NWBCCC), Northwest Bronx Indivisible, and the Caring Majority. The event will also feature
- Judy Sheridan-Gonzalez, President of the New York Nurses Association, who will explain why we need the New York Health Act;
- Stephanie Quintana, Health Justice Chair of NWBCCC, who will speak about the social determinants of health;
- Henry Moss from Physicians for a National Health Plan, who will discuss how long term care will work;
- Carlyn Cowen from the Caring Majority, who will talk about the economic impact of the Act for caregivers.
The forum is open to the public and the panel of experts will address audience questions about how New York State can lead the nation in passing legislation that will ensure healthcare as a human right for all residents.
