Hearts and Homes for Refugees

This year, Hearts and Homes for Refugees will once again run the Back to School supplies drive to support the kids of asylee and refugee families. As the Helping Hands team who has assisted the families in the past we are asking whether you would be able to take on a child or all the children in a family to supply for the upcoming school year. We have 45 children from 24 refugee families in our area who will provide a list of needs.

The sample list below is only an idea of the items that you might be asked to provide. We are polling the students and families for their specific and urgent needs. As schools are still figuring out their plans to reopen amid a pandemic, their supplies lists and needs may look different from prior years. We are also asking volunteers to supplement supplies with a $25 gift card to be used for backpacks or home supplies that may be required to support remote learning.
