HIAS Refugee
This week is HIAS Refugee Shabbat. We invite you to watch and listen to the conversation Rabbi Linda had with the three women who went to the Mexican border with Marti Michael -- Leah Ferster, Carol Gross, and Arleen Stern. It is an important conversation about what is best about human beings -- something we need to hear at this moment. The conversation is a potent reminder about the goodness of people who are coping with the worst possible situation. May we understand them to be the true exemplars they are.

Message from our friend Marti Michael, who led the trip.
Per Marti: "We have started a new fund because Team Brownsville has asked volunteers coming from across the U.S. by plane not to come. Though World Central Kitchen has stepped up and is now driving food across the border in a truck (food we volunteers used to transport in wagons by hand), Team Brownsville, now with far fewer volunteers, is left to purchase and transport other supplies: clothing, hygiene products (we just funded and send soap to help with the now more necessary constant hand washing), OTC medicine, books and supplies for the school. Etc., etc. It’s yet another step into insurmountable crisis, but we must help, from afar.
"Help us help them! Here’s the link to my GoFundMe
Thank you!
"How much does a bar of soap cost? They are a population that will be decimated without proper supplies. Every little bit helps."
