Sukkot

Sukkot

The mitzvah of Sukkot is to sit in a Sukkah and make the following blessings:

Baruch atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech haolam, asher kid’shanu b’mitzvotav v’tzivanu leishev basukkah.
Blessed are you Adonai, our God Sovereign of all, who makes us holy with mitzvot, commanding us to dwell/sit in the Sukkah.

Baruch atah, Adonai Eloheinu, Melech haolam, shehecheyanu, v'kiy'manu, v'higiyanu laz'man hazeh.
Blessed are You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of all, who has kept us alive, sustained us, and brought us to this season.

You can visit one of the following sukkahs, if you wish. Some of you may have sukkahs in your buildings. The Riverdale Y has one as you enter the building and Riverdale Temple is especially open to visitors. Rabbi Gardner let me know that you are more than welcome to stop by when no services are going on. If there is no one there, you can eat in the sukkah; if there is someone at the other end, you can still come but you may have to wait. Social distancing rules and mask wearing are, of course, in effect.
