PARASHAT VAYEILECH
Deuteronomy 31:1 - 31:30
A Kavanah For The New Year
A new year
A new beginning
A new leaf
The choices before are many
As we make our way forward
Yet we are reminded
Over and over again
We cannot predict nor control
The cards we are dealt
The choice is only how to play them
Hope or despair
Action or inaction
Transformation or stasis
Community or solitude
The choices are there
Ours to make
Beyond it all
There is really only one choice
To love
To love fully
Bring our compassion forward
For ourselves and for others
And in doing so
To bring in the light of creation
The light of renewal
The light that serves as a beacon in our darkest hour
The light that enables us to see
One another
See one another fully
And know that this is where holiness lies
