R & R

About once a year, we have a mitzvah about stepping back and refreshing ourselves. This week seems like a good one to think about how to take a break in order to be able to return to our everyday lives with renewed energy. It can be especially draining to be constantly interrupted to deal with other people's needs, no matter how important.

So let us take some time to refresh ourselves, whether on a trip or for a staycation, in nature or in the city.  The quote and link below are specifically about staycations, but also make some points that speak to both.

"What do you most want to do this weekend, and whom do you want to spend time with?
Sometimes, when we’re caught up in getting stuff done and living through the next crisis,
just asking ourselves what we would like to do and then doing it can be,
if not revelatory, at least a bit of a relief."
