Recycling
Recycling
On Wednesday, we had two guests from the Big Reuse (in partnership with the Department of Sanitation) who educated us about recycling. Thank you, Gulnara and Rachel!
We generate a lot of trash during the holiday season that can be easily recycled. According to this NPR story, "the EPA estimates Americans throw away roughly 5 million tons of trash between Thanksgiving and New Year's – a 25 percent increase over the rest of the year."
The mitzvah for this holiday season is to make sure that we all carefully gather and sort wrapping paper and plastic packaging to go into the recycling bins. It takes a moment and makes a huge difference!
