Ukrainian Family Update
I am very excited to tell you that a Ukrainian family is coming to the Riverdale area directly from Germany, where they fled after the war started.
We are so excited about the family’s arrival! The family is a family of five (mother, father, grandmother, two children (a five-year-old and a four-year-old), and a baby on the way. One of the reasons the family needs to come sooner than later is that we want to safeguard the mother as she enters the third trimester. And, of course, winter is starting soon in Europe, and we want to get them situated in permanent housing.
One of the children has a chronic medical condition, and one of our volunteers has agreed to share her time and experience in helping to connect the family with proper resources and support. It feels very motivating to be helping a family in some genuine and powerful ways.
I am also writing to ask you and your community to support our work by spreading the word amongst your congregations and communities. Financial support is critical at this juncture, and we look to our caring community to help us support this family.
